Ingredients
  1. 1 stick butter
  2. 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  3. 1 egg
  4. 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  5. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  6. 1 cup of your favorite mix-ins (I used pretzels, almonds, Snickers and Rolos!)
Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees and spray an 8X8 inch pain with pam. Melt the butter in a medium pan over medium heat until it bubbles and brown specks form. Stir the butter frequently to prevent burning. This should take 3-4 minutes. Transfer the butter to a large bowl. Add the brown sugar, stirring to combine. Add the egg and vanilla, whisking to combine. Add the flour and salt, stirring to combine. Chop up the mix-ins before folding in to the batter. Pour into the pan and smooth on top with a spatula. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares, 2 hours. Bars are best stored in an airtight container at room temperature, or can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.
