Donuts
  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 3/4 cup cake flour
  3. 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  4. 1/8 teaspoon salt
  5. 1/2 cup butter, melted
  6. 2/3 cup sugar
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  9. 3/4 cup buttermilk
  10. 1/4 cup sprinkles
Glaze
  1. 1 cup sliced strawberries
  2. 2-3 cups confectioners sugar
  3. 1/3 cup sprinkles
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and spray a donut pan with pam. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flours, baking powder and salt. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until combined. Add in the dry ingredients to the wet, half at a time. In a small bowl, combine the eggs, vanilla extract and buttermilk. Add to the batter along with the sprinkles, until combined. Use a spoon and add the batter to the donut pan until the molds are 3/4 way full. Bake for 13-15 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove and let cool. While the donuts are baking, make the glaze. Blend the strawberries in a food processor until pureed. Transfer to a bowl and add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. If the glaze is still vey thin, add more sugar, 1/2 cup at a time. Dip each cooled donut upside down in the glaze and allow excess to drip off. Top each donut with sprinkles and serve!
