Ingredients
  1. 5 tablespoons butter, softened, plus 1 tablespoon melted
  2. 4 ounces cream cheese
  3. 1 cup flour
  4. 1 tablespoon confectioners sugar
  5. 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  6. 2/3 cup chopped pecans
  7. 1/3 cup mini chocolate chips, semisweet
  8. 1 egg
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  10. 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
  1. Mix butter and cream cheese in a bowl until smooth. Blend in flour, confectioners sugar, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt. Form dough into a disk, cover in plastic wrap, and chill for 1 hour.
  2. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Press a tablespoon dough into mini muffin tins, pushing dough up over edges. Refrigerate while making batter. Mix brown sugar, chocolate chips, egg, melted butter, vanilla, and 1/8 teaspoon salt until well combined. Divide half chopped pecans among tins, top with brown sugar mixture, and then top with remaining pecans. Bake 20 minutes or until dough is slightly browned. Let sit for 5 minutes, run knife around edge of tins to loosen and pop tarts out onto plate 🙂
