Cupcakes
  1. 1 cup flour
  2. ½ cup malted milk powder
  3. ½ teaspoon baking soda
  4. ¾ cup milk
  5. ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  6. ½ cup sugar
  7. ¾ cup vegetable oil
  8. 1 egg
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting
  1. 1 stick butter, softened
  2. 1 ½ confectioners sugar
  3. 1/3 cup malted milk powder
  4. 4 oz. milk chocolate, melted
  5. 2 tablespoons milk
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping
  1. 1 Box Whoppers
Directions
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a muffin tin with liners, spraying with pam. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, malted milk powder and baking soda. In a microwave safe bowl, heat the milk until hot. Pour over the cocoa powder in a large bowl, whisking until smooth. Add in the sugar, vegetable oil, egg and vanilla, whisking until smooth. Add in the flour mixture, 1/2 at a time, whisking to combine. Fill each muffin tin a little over 3/4 full with batter and bake for 23-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. While the cupcakes are baking, begin making the frosting. In a large bowl, beat the butter until soft. Add in the powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time until combined. Add in the remaining ingredients and beat until smooth. Transfer the frosting to a pastry bag or ziplock bag with the corner cut off and pipe onto completely cooled cupcakes. Cut six whoppers in half and top each cupcake with 1 full whopper and 1 half, as shown.
