Ingredients
  1. 3 cups flour
  2. 1 teaspoon salt
  3. 2 sticks butter, room temperature cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  4. 1/2 cup cold water
  5. 1 cup strawberry jam, or filling of your choice
  6. 1 egg, beaten
  7. 1 tablespoon water
  8. chocolate syrup
Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees and spray a baking sheet with pam. In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the butter and using your fingers or a fork, break apart until the butter becomes the size of peas. Add the water gradually until a dough forms. On a floured surface, roll the dough out into 1/8 inch thickness using a rolling pin. Cut the dough into rectangles. Place a heaping tablespoon of jam or filling of your choice into the center of half the rectangles. Cover the filling with another dough rectangle and seal by crimping the edges together using the back of a fork. In a small bowl, combine the beaten egg with a tablespoon of water. Brush the outside of the dough with the egg wash and bake until slightly browned, 10-12 minutes. Cool completely before drizzling with chocolate syrup. Let chocolate set for about 5-10 minutes before serving. Store in air tight container and warm in microwave for 15 seconds or so before serving!
